Welcome to the 5th annual Shuttleworth Farm Art & Craft Show. I’m so looking forward to hosting…Come and spend a little time with us on a nice fall day and speak directly to the makers…they love that. We’ll have live music by The Blue Drag Band. And yes, there’s a Shuttleworth in the band. Easy listening from 12:30 to 3:30. Grab some friends and buy your spot for a paint party right here!
This year we’ve partnered with the Mt Albert Group of Artists. Our show is called Explore Art in East Gwillimbury. We’re location 7. There are four here in Mt Albert. Pick up a postcard around town. Get it signed at each location for a draw to win artwork donated by the artists.
Art Building Children’s Dreams
Featured this year is a local registered Canadian charity ABCD: Art Building Children’s Dreams, founded 15 years ago by local artist and art teacher, Frank Smith. His charity operates in 8 villages on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania.
Through fundraising, ABCDreams is able to pay school fees for about 100 secondary school students…even as far as post-secondary education! The charity also:
- funds a breakfast program that feeds 5000 primary school children a hot breakfast every day of the school year.
- funds a local group of mamas to make menstrual care kits for secondary school girls
- funds the repair and maintenance of the village schools
Please visit his website at www.abcdreams.ca. Frank will be joining us at the show.
